digitals: ju.

Captured a few digitals of Juliette around a week ago. She's the sweetest and handiest (she works in the tool room) croissant around the Fine Arts building. You should check her works out when it's out. Currently preparing a project involving a couple of people, including her, so let's see what happens. All I know right now is that it'll be fun 'cause it's always fun to work with the peops that knows you best as a person and as an artist.

It's nice to climb back slowly into the creative zone :)

bone(s)kin.

The negative connotation of the word 'interruption' made me think, what would be an example of a positive interruption in life?

Personal answer: new people, introduced.

Ray introduced himself to me after a friend of a close friend of mine tagged him onto a comment section on a Facebook post. As I get to know him, I found his personality to be driven by a lot of his passion; whether it's from the pieces he wrote, or the spontaneous Skype sessions we had where he'll often talk about thing A and somehow relate it up to thing Z.

And on our second meeting this year, we merged our hang out session with a test shoot!

daradara.

Last summer, I had a spontaneous idea about promoting up-and-coming Indonesian brands by bringing them to the states, and possibly make a small lookbook for them in my spare time. I talked about it with Bea and she ended up introducing me to the designer of Daradara a.k.a. her aunt, Lia. We talked for awhile, and she entrusted me with several pieces of her batik tutus.

After months of treading the chaotic waters of what we call 'art school', I was able to do a shoot with Kriztille, a petite friend of a friend who I've been wanting to work with for quite some time. You can click here to devour your eyes on her works as NYC-based emerging graphic designer.

franklin street.

Got to spend my afternoon with Abby!

In the midst of ignoring doing mountainous amount of work --both for finals and freelance bits --the transition from winter to spring in addition to my muse visiting New York would probably be the best mind-cleansing thing I could ever do right now. We ate, talked, and roamed around Franklin St for awhile. It was a good amount of time to catch up before we face our finals soon.

Nowadays I'm also working on video art projects, and able to borrow different equipments from the Fine Arts department, one of them being a Canon 70D. I have commitment issues when it comes to cameras, therefore I must say that as much as I love Deedee, I also found myself to be enjoying the different tones that this camera produced.

So here you go, a short one from Abby and I.
Oh and have a great easter!

sunday stripes.

It seems like summer never left me, and I am too reluctant to leave it behind anyways.

Back in Indonesia, I've hopped on the boat of commercialism during my last two months and a half being there, and I guess I was a bit seasick. So then I hopped on another kind of ride, flying overseas and traveled to the lands where inspiration rushed in like comets and meteors. The impact cleansed my brain so much that after the trip I called Abby to squeezed in a shoot.

Yes, I've been taking pictures with some of my muses without any team or theme. The purpose was simple; to just have a chill time without any restrictions whatsoever. It was a way for me to relax and my muse to work harder (haha)

Just kidding, we had a great Sunday and a great set of pictures for you to enjoy.

modern cherub.

Hey.

I am very conscious right now that I haven't been posting as much. Good news though, I'm back in NYC. Will not be making promises no more so enjoy the surprises. Not posting regularly puts you in my shoes; I can never tell which little things would brighten up my day today or in the tomorrows. So thank you for those who let the experience seeps in.

As a little housewarming celebration, I did a shoot with Danielle. You'll miss her blue eyes and I'm not apologizing because she looks divine in black and white.

dulu.

The long awaited collaboration has finally been done! The first shoot I had when I was back in Jakarta turned out to be presented twenty days before going back to NYC. But it was worth the wait, for sure.

Mabel. I can't really describe her much, but you won't believe how much of a hipster she is considering her current age (which I'm going to keep you guessing about). Her older sister Beata constantly exchange ideas with me and she styled a couple of projects with me during these months. So she saw the vibe that Mabel's been overloaded with, told me, and decided to do the shoot!

On the other hand I was itching to collaborate with Josha because I saw his graphic design works and photo edits since high school and I thought these pictures were perfect for his style.

You know what, I'm a sucker for these peeps, big sucker when it comes to super creative people, and this team is a good example of one.

Note: "Dulu" means 'then' or 'used to be'

meet eunice.

A lot of my high school friends tend to help me with the promotional side of this blog in such a traditional mouth-to-mouth kind of way. Never thought that I would meet those third parties but Melia happened to invite one to Indonesia for the summer.

Eunice currently goes to Otis College of Art & Design in LA. She's very quiet, very minimalistic Coachella-chic in terms of style, and she's very blessed with an amazing pair of cheekbones, plus a great taste in choosing her tattoo (yes I'm shamelessly obsessed with it). The shoot went well, as relaxed as it could be. I gave the pictures to Melia straight away and asked her to layout them for me. This blog really needs a bit of revamping so I've been asking people to help me do that here and there.

There'll be more updates soon but for now, meet Eunice!

P.S. Try clicking the large pictures to see it in fit-into-screen slide mode.
